Day 15 (Nantahala Outdoor Center -> Sassafras Gap Shelter) ( 144 mi total)
So, today was the first day that the rain started. Not only was the thought of leaving restaurants, conversations, and great re-supply agonizing for us, but now we had to muster up the courage to depart in the rain. However, we had a short walk ahead of us filled with beautiful blooms and mesmerizing vista's. We quickly landed at Sassafras Gap Shelter and met our elusive friend Erin (whom rode a Huffy from Tampa, Fl to Springer Mtn, GA (700 miles) and is now doing the same hike as we (GA->HF))....insanity, and also our Georgian friends with whom we experimented with Melatonin ha.
