The Appalachian Trail- (D.10, 12.4 mi)

Day 10 (Plumorchard Gap Shelter -> Standing Indian Shelter) (12.4 mi, 86.3 mi total)

Today was a great day with great progress to boot.  After crossing the state line (GA/NC) we quickly realized that we still had plenty of elevation outside of Georgia.  The stateline and the ascent to Bly Gap gave us fair warning of the trails ahead.  We took some time to lunch at Muskrat Creek Shelter and then continued on.  Our longest day for the trip left us setting up camp at the Standing Indian Shelter and fearing the coming storm.  Luckily, we found some company in Matt (http://www.etsy.com/shop/Artbushed) a very cool guy who happens to make art and have a crank-powered radio.  So, we ended the day listening to the Braves/Cubs game, which I'm pumped to say I was told the Cubbies won.

Whoo! We finally made it to our first state line.

Gnarled Oak that represents the change in states.

Brasky mourning over his Allman Brothers shirt, which he honorably left in the first shelter out of GA.  He muttered something about eating a peach for peace.
Beautiful view on a long day!

    1. Thanks Gary, I appreciate it and it definitely has been an amazing trip so far. I think we have experienced almost every kind of weather the trail can throw us except for snow so far. Hope all is well.
