The Appalachian Trail- (D. 13, 11.6mi)

Day 13 (11.6 mi, 125.6 total) (Siler Bald Shelter -> Cold Spring Shelter)

Alright, sorry that it has taken so long for us to be able to update.  The internet has been scarce and the rain has caused some library visits to be missed.  So, Brasky convinced us to walk a little further than the .09 mi to the campsite and push out 4.7 to the Siler Bald Shelter where we fortunate to rendezvous with our new friend Matt and an older thru-hiker '70.  I was dumb enough to get greedy at Franklin, NC and buy some hot dogs and buns so we could have a little cookout at the shelter.  We spent the rest of the night enjoying some .99c wieners and gathering much needed information from a wiser man.
Dem Racquet Boys cookin' up some dogs.
We slept well that night and decided to push for a 11 mile day the Cold Spring Shelter.  Once again we spent the night cranking up Matt's radio except this time we were listening to some country music mixed in with some hilarious commercials.  Dreams of the Nantahala Outdoor Center filled our heads that night with thoughts of food and comfy beds.

Yeah, we know how to read maps.
Every tough hike needs a payoff!
