The Appalchian Trail- (D. 45, 10.7 mi)

(Trimpi Shelter --> Marion, VA) (530.7 mi total)

We awoke early today in hopes of getting to Marion, Va in time for lunch and the library.  We only had around 11 miles so we got on it and in no time we were in Marion where Michael had offered me a place to stay in his hotel room.  I was reluctant at first but due to my lack of attention to the blog (behind about 10 days) I decided to take him up on the offer and catch up and give the legs a break.  The hotel Michael had gotten was very nice and located in a very scenic portion of downtown Marion.  He was spending two days here and then catching a bus to D.C. where he would be catching up with friends and then back to Texas to finish up his trip with a Half Marathon (he is BA (BadAss)).  I was lucky to have met Michael and had company to hike with, he was a very kind person and very fun to talk with.  I hope him the best on his future endeavours and expect some facebook contact from me.  I noticed you shaved the Handlebar before the marathon     :(   but atleast you gave it a shot ha.  We finished the night with a relaxing sit-down watching the olympics and futurama with a 6 pack of BudLight Lime (guilty pleasure of both of us).

Really? I'm making an ultralight fly rod for my next trip....this hurts walking by this everyday.

Me taking a sneaky picture of Michael getting the handlebar moustache.

This face puts fear in the stearnest man's face.   Ha, I did make a promise to rock the handlebar for a time when I get back to Memphis, which will be upheld!

  1. Sorry, I had to remove the handlebar mustache; my friends refused to be seen in public with me till I removed it :)
