The Appalachian Trail- (D.42, 10.4 mi)

(Demascus, Va --> Saunders Shelter) (476.3 mi total)

So, today was a sad day.....Ed left me and set out on his way hitch-hiking to Johnson City in hopes of catching a bus their to Knoxville, Tn and then Mega Bussin' home to Memphis by the 8th of August.  So, we woke this morning got some breakfast at "In the Country" and then some coffee at the Coffeehouse.  After that we had a pleasant (ha) conversation with Larry from " the place" (our hostel) and also Crazy Larry's.  I don't know why it aggravated me so bad, but this guy could not leave it alone and felt obligated to drop off comments that we should pay the suggested donation (We already did).  Not the laid back character that we have been meeting so far throughout this trip but some people really aren't conversationalist.  However, "the Place" is nice just hope you don't run into Larry or any back problems.....maybe try the Mt. Roger's Outfitters hostel if your in Demascus, VA.  So, with Ed gone I tagged along with Michael until he got to Marion, Va.  We hit the trail around 2 p.m but quickly ran into rain which cut our day a little short, but fortunately we were able to get under a shelter pretty quickly without soaking everything (ha, just the shoes/socks).
Jude and Abby Normal.....sad to see you go, but I hope all goes well with the Sis and I know you will be a grand Uncle!

Trying to re-create the end scene from the old school Hulk tele show.

Crazy Larry's place of business.  This guy literally has no idea the meaning of subtlety.

Reminded me of the greenline back home.  Can't wait to get back and ride again!
