The Appalachian Trail- (D.43, 23.7 mi)

(Saunders Shelter --> Wise Shelter) (500.0 mi total) <-- HUAH!!!

Today was an exciting day because we would finally be making it into the Grayson Highlands (the land of the wild ponies).  We had the day cut short yesterday due to rain, so despite my bodies obvious cries for a break we had to push on to keep on schedule.  The terrain was beautiful and we barely avoided a huge directional error (my fault) that would have left us turned around and hiking in the wrong direction.....luckily Michael picked up on a similar looking rock and we righted our ways ha.  But we are being ushered out of the library, so I will be back on here as soon as I can be!

Finally made it to the Grayson Highlands State Park in VA.

A little change in the terrain....definitely loved this section of the trail.

Michael isn't afraid to climb....... White Blaze art.

Didn't know Michael was a model.....turns out he is.  Cool white blaze on the left.

Part of the trail leading up to the Highlands.

Michael upset from his stare down loss with the calf, turned to friendship with the wild ponies of the Grayson Highlands.

Abby Normal looking awkward/creepy as ever with the wild ponies.
