The Appalachian Trail- (D. 37, 18 mi)

(Overmountain Shelter --> Mountaineer Falls Shelter) (400.7 mi total)
If your imagination is slow.... it say's 400!!!!

We started the day off walking with Larry and a new comer that we met at Overmountain.  Unfortunately, the newer guy's ankle was giving him issues and he fell behind.  Larry just does it right and doesn't worry about pace.  We ran into him later after getting a shuttle from the trail (ha, .02 mi) to the hostel......he claims he's "Just out here having fun" but he has done just as many miles as us and he might be close to 75.  Mountaineer falls shelter was really cool and we unexpectedly ran into about 12-15 girls at the shelter.  Jude and I tend to hike in our briefs and smell similar to fish left in a shed so we approached pretty cautiously.  Turns out they were really cool and had come from a summer camp in NC.  We proved our selves as men and made a fire (nature's tele) and listened to some of their jokes (oldies but goodies).  One of the girls totally got stung by a bee during the day.... when we woke up she was like, "Is my eye swollen at all?"  Ha, it was about the size of a baseball cut in half where her eye should be......no bueno.  We told them of the upcoming hostel and that maybe for the girls in charge it would be best if they got some medical help.

Little Hump and Hump Mtn.....if you look close you can notice the trail following this whole ridge.

Jude's profile.....#24, brother's lacrosse 4 lyfe.

It's a dreamworld (#2T's).  Really intense wind we had on the backside of Hump Mtn.  Jude literally walking in the clouds.

Really cool hostel/B&B that we stopped by to get some food and escape the rain.

We were walking in the middle of the woods and it opened up to this really well maintained country cemetery.
