The Return To Normalcy- (Day 1)

I've regressed both mentally and physically after the trail.

Hello all!  Long time no talk.  If there even is anyone out there anymore ha.

Bewildering news for me.  I haven't checked on here in a long time.....we have almost 5,000 views.  I honestly never thought that was possible.  I don't really have much to do at the moment.  So, I felt this an opportune moment to start blogging again.  Maybe this time I won't really tell anyone though and see how it differs ha.

I recently started researching Trail Days 2013 which takes place in Demascus, Va on May 17-19.  Pretty easy to get tranced out just looking at all of the photos from previous years.  It definitely left me with a pang of sadness not being on the trail again.  However, I am super excited for my two friends Michael and Ed (from the original journey) to take on the Appalachian Trail starting at Demascus and ending in (?).  Ed accompanied me on my trip last time but had to leave due to the honor of blessing this world with another Haaga (a.k.a he had a nephew).  If I am able to maintain solid contact with them while on their journey then I will try and update the blog with some tidbits of what they are doing.  I am super excited to be going to TD 2013 though, and hope to see some familiar faces.  If anyone is reading this and is contemplating having a good time......then don't contemplate, just do.  If you are caught unawares.....I drive a mini-van and will be taking a caravan (dodge) over there.  Hopefully, I will be able to take a couple days off before and after and really be able to enjoy the trip and spend some time hiking as well.  Maybe fly fishing in the Smokies if I can swing it.  Definitely a trip to Knoxville, Tn on the way.  In all honesty I haven't even thought of hiking since I returned, but all of a sudden that is all I can think of today.

Well, I hope all is well in reader-dom.  There have been numerous folks that I haven't checked in on in a while that were essential in my success on the trail.  You folks know who you are and I hope all is well with you!  Feel free to message me or something on here....Not sure how that works but would love to hear from folks.

Bert.
